Over the last few months the 'To Do List' has been growing, rather than reducing, but there is one thing I can now cross off the list, pizza toppings.
I decided a while ago, wouldn't be great to have pieces of pineapple to finish off the list of toppings for my pizzas.
I looked at dried pineapple pieces available from the health food stores and the supermarkets but they were not only too hard, they also took forever to rehydrate.
That's when I started to think if there was any suppliers out there that have freeze dried pineapples. As freeze dried food will rehydrate almost instantly, I thought this would be a simple problem to solve.
But no, it ended up being a round the world expedition on the phone and the internet to find someone who produces freeze dried pineapples! When I finally found someone I was told I could only buy the minimum, which was one box of 36 packets!
So I took the plunge and brought a box and then waited for the box to arrive. Well the box arrived a few days ago so I made a test pizza (which I ate) with all the toppings, including the freeze dried pineapple and it tasted great!
Who said you said you can't have a little piece of paradise after a hard days paddling!
PS: It also rehydrates almost instantly!
