It's on again!!
Tuesday, 6 July 2010

It's that time again for my annual Noosa River Night Paddle and it's open to all! This is NOT a club paddle, but for a group of like minded people who want to join me on this great paddle. So read on for all the information.

Friday 30 July:
We'll depart from Elanda Point, crossing Lake Cootharaba for the night paddle up the Upper Noosa River to campsite #3. The paddle should take us about 3 ½ hours. We'll be setting up camp and staying at Camp 3 for the two nights.

Saturday 31 July:
The day will be yours. You can paddle upstream, and then return to our camp site, or there is the option to walk to the Sand Patch (11km return). If you decide to do either of these activities, there must a minimum of three people in total on your adventure. You may even decide to have a relaxing day for fishing or just kicking back on the jetty with a glass of red in hand (responsible drinking), it's totally up to you.

Sunday 1 August:
Will be the day to paddle back to Elanda Point.

Time: 5.00pm - Friday 30th July

Meeting Place:
National Parks Canoe Launch Site (Put the following coordinates into Google Maps and get directions to the launch site: (-26.257112° 152.996895°)

Departure Time:

Camping gear, food and the all important bottle of red. The Upper Noosa River water is fresh, so if you are going to use this water for you're drinking, it should be treated first. Cost: $10.00 per person for the two nights

Every kayak MUST have a PFD & Navigation light. If you don't have either, you will not be going!! Please make sure you wear warm clothing for the paddle on Friday night as it will be cold. Your PFD must be worn while paddling at night and the group MUST paddle as a group, no exceptions!

If you would like to go, send me an email and I'll reply with my bank details for your camp fees. Once you have deposited the money, please confirm with an email to me of your payment. It'll be first in, first serve, so get in quick as there will be a cap on size of the group.
